Identity Explorers

No matter your age, you could experience an "existential" or "identity" crisis, which really just means that you're having a lot of questions about life, death, and who you are.  The thoughts might sound like “who am I”. “what am I doing with my life”, “what’s the point of anything”. or “what is my purpose”. These are common during big transitions; maybe you just experienced the death of a loved one, a divorce, or you graduated college.  Maybe you aren't transitioning at all and you've been working at the same job for so long, you forgot you could look for something else.  Whatever your situation might be, talking it through with a therapist could benefit you.

Some techniques I use with people experiencing an existential or identity crisis include:

  • Exploring values

  • Mindfulness

  • Strengths-based therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Existential angst is no stranger to me, and I know it is extremely unpleasant. With the strategies listed above, I can help you through it. Contact me today.
