Individual Counseling

What is therapy?

Therapy is the process of you understanding yourself, accepting yourself, and learning how to both accept who you are and change your behaviors simultaneously. It is coming to understand your emotions; it is coming to accept your emotions. It is practicing being vulnerable. It is learning to be compassionate with yourself. It is learning why you deserve that.

Therapy is scary. All the things listed above can be scary. We’ll go at your pace.

How do I know if I need it?

There is no easy way to determine who “needs” therapy and who doesn’t. If you feel like you can benefit from therapy, you need therapy.

What sort of individuals do you see?

I work with all sorts of individuals! My specialty areas are:

  • New Adults (people somewhere between “young adult” and “adult adult”.)

  • Identity Explorers (anyone asking questions like “what am I doing with my life” or “what’s the point in all this”)

  • Athletes (anyone who identifies this way, regardless of skill set)
